Our strength comes from the multitude of backgrounds, education, qualifications, and individual experience as both athletes and coaches. Above all, each coach is very passionate about running and helping the community of athletes of all abilities. This international experience, personal experimentation as athletes, and understanding of multiple training philosophies & approaches bring a unique perspective that continues to adapt and improve each day. Calum Neff

Coach Calum Neff began running at the age of four years old and over the past 30+ years has trained and studied under coaches and running programs all over the world. Always an athlete that asked "why?" and constantly reading training material from a young age through to today, led to a natural progression and passion for coaching. Over the past 15+ years Neff has coached every level of athlete from elementary school, high school, collegiate, and adult, introductory-to-elite, for every distance from 100 meter to 100 mile. As a self-coached runner Neff competes world-wide at an elite level.

Coach Kim began running at age 15 when she joined her high school track team as a way to keep busy during the basketball off season. 10 years later Kim is still competing as the daily grind & challenge continue to push her to new heights. Although Kim is serious about her running it remains a consistent source of joy in her life. This joy sparked her progression to coaching. Whether you are a beginner or elite; Kim hopes to bring her passion & expertise to bring out the best in you.

Neil Ruocco

Neil offers his passion for running, knowledge from successfully training and racing since 2014, and many years of coaching and developing others professionally.  Neil ran his first marathon in 2015 at age 53 which was a life-changing experience.  After this, he studied popular advanced training methods and created his own plan that took him to his first Boston Marathon in 2017 (his BQ streak continues).  

 

In late 2018 Neil hired Cal not only as a coach but to give him a crash course in the basics of endurance running, running physiology, and advance methods of training (from 5k to marathon distances).  

 

Neil is committed to sharing his knowledge with others looking for a similar life-changing experience through running.

Dr. Taryn Jurgella

Coach Taryn Wright Jurgella stumbled into her distance running career in 2008 after signing up for a half marathon for fun. Fast forward to 2021 and many miles and races down the road she has transitioned to the role of coach. Taryn is ready to share her love for the long run and drop knowledge bombs gained from her career as a Physical Therapist, all while working alongside the rest of the Hardloop crew to chase her newest running goal; a sub-3-hour marathon. A member of Team Hardloop since 2018, Taryn is no stranger to the variety, accountability, and truly personalized workouts Hardloop is known for and she is so excited to help other runners select goals, set plans, and succeed as a far better runner than they thought possible.

Run Coach EmKay Sullivan Marathon Training OTQ Hardloop Endurance

EmKay Sullivan

Originally from Arkansas, Coach EmKay began running in junior high school. She was recruited to the University of Nevada where she ran for five years and earned Division I All-American Honors in the 3,000m steeplechase. She currently holds the University of Nevada school records for the indoor 3,000m and 5,000m and outdoor 3,000m steeplechase and 5,000m. Post-collegiately, EmKay has shifted her focus to the longer events both on the roads and on the trails. EmKay qualified for the 2020 Olympic Trials Marathon in her first-ever marathon and was 4th in her Ultra Marathon debut at Way Too Cool 50K in 2019. EmKay is currently a Division I coach for the University of Nevada cross country teams and is also a USTFCCCA certified strength coach. EmKay runs for CRAFT and competes both domestically and internationally.
